Nursing Grant Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions will take effect Fall 2025

  • All Pitt-Titusville at-entry grants and awards are awarded for up to a maximum of two years of full-time study (fall and spring terms only). These grants are not applicable for students extending to three years or beyond, nor are they provided to students for study during the summer sessions. In addition, they are only applicable at the Pitt Titusville campus, and do not transfer to other Pitt campuses. Awards are disbursed equally over the fall and spring terms (50% each term).
  • Students must maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.00 to retain all Pitt-Titusville at-entry grants (calculated at the end of spring term only for the upcoming academic year). There is no appeal process; however, students can make up GPA requirements by taking summer classes that apply to their degree major at one of the Pitt campuses. If students elect to use this option, they must notify the Financial Aid Office and earn a 2.00 cumulative GPA or above.
  • Students receiving a UPT Nursing  Grant students and also receiving a University of Pittsburgh employee dependent scholarship, a UPMC employee dependent scholarship of any kind, out-of-state tuition benefits under the Tuition Exchange Program, a U.S. Army ROTC Scholarship, or full tuition benefits as a veteran, the UPT Nursing Grant will be less than the amount stated in the award letter, and the student will be re-coded for scholarship purposes as if they were a PA state resident. This applies to all Pitt-Titusville at entry grants and awards. Please check with the Pitt-Titusville Financial Aid Office for details.
  • For all students, under no circumstances will University monies be refunded if a person is awarded more than the invoiced charges for tuition and fees.
  • The University of Pittsburgh overall grade point average includes all courses taken at any University of Pittsburgh campus and includes courses taken as part of the College in the High School and BRIDGES programs. The Pitt GPA requirement to have a 2.25 cum GPA begins at the end of the first academic year
